South - Starts early to mid-June
North - late June to early July
Raspberries ripen in early July to mid-August.  Some everbearing types of raspberries even go into the fall. Blueberries come ripe in mid-July to September, depending on where you are. 

Berry picking can be fun for the whole family, but remember to get the berries in a cooler quickly to preserve freshness.  Also, berries can be frozen to keep for months.

September 4, 2010 - Fall-bearing raspberries can give you the enjoyment of fresh raspberries after the "summer" season has passed.  Check this website for growers who offer fall-bearing varieties until the first frost.

July 29, 2010 - Wisconsin growers are reporting a nice crop of blueberries.  Some growers offer pick-your-own while others sell ready-picked berries from roadside stands and farmers markets.  Click on your county to find a blueberry grower near you!

July 11, 2010 - Watch for blueberries to ripen soon.  Those growers with blueberries will post their picking times on their websites.

July 1, 2010 - We have received some great reports about raspberries.  Raspberries are ripe and picking has begun.  Check our website for growers of summer-bearing raspberries.  The crop is excellent this year.

June 28, 2010 - Some northern growers report the best strawberries they have in years.  Some heavy rains may limit the picking hours, so call or check their website.  Hurry! The strawberry picking days will grow short! Raspberries are ripening across the state.  Bushes are loaded and some growers have started selling them.

June 22, 2010 - Growers in the Northern part of the state are opening for strawberries.  Should be a nice crop for them this year.  Southern growers are getting to the end of the season, so call ahead to make sure they still have strawberries.  The first raspberries of the season are coming ripe!

June 14 from WBGA - Growers in Shawano, Manitowoc, Brown, and Door counties in NE Wisconsin are opening for strawberries.  Go to the MAP or check their websites for picking details.

June 8 from WBGA - Raspberry bushes are full of berries.  Start looking for ripe raspberries near the end of June or early July.

June 6, 2010 from WBGA - Southern and Central Wisconsin berry farms have started picking strawberries.  Weekend rains may limit picking hours, so call the farm or check their website to get up-to-date picking information.

May 31, 2010 from WBGA - Strawberry season is here!  Some farms in SW and southern Wisconsin have started picking strawberries.  If the weather stays warm, the season will go fast.  Check the WBGA website and call your favorite berry farm for season status and picking times!

May 25, 2010 from WBGA - Warm weather this week has given a boost to the strawberries.  Schroeder's Produce at Cambridge and Vesperman Farm near Lancaster are planning to open the end of this week.  Hazeltines in Janesville and Green Thumb near Sauk City are expecting a June 1st starting date.  Bures Berry Patch in Iowa County and Zastrow's Strawberries in Dodge County are looking at the June 7th.  Thompson's Berry Farm in SE Wisconsin is looking for June 5 - 10th starting date. 

May 18, 2010 from WBGA - After some cool and cloudy weather, the forecast is calling for temperatures in the 80s and 90s by this weekend.  That should help the berries ripen quickly.

April 30, 2010 from WBGA -  Growers are reporting an earlier than usual Spring.  If we get some warm weather, the berries could be ready the  first week on June in southern Wisconsin and the middle of June in the northern half of the state.
